  • Biography

Riva is a singer, actor, and director from Santa Barbara, California. She graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Theatre from the Ray Bolger (famously the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz) Musical Theatre Program. She moved to New York to make her mark on the theatre world and soak up as much art as she possibly can!

For over 10 years, Riva has babysat for many wonderful children, as young as 6 months and as old as 15. As the eldest sibling, Riva has been babysitting since she can remember for her 3 years younger brother and 6 years younger sister. After being mentored by big kids at her theatre summer camp, when she was old enough, decided to become a CIT (counselor-in-training), then a counselor, and finally was promoted to head counselor. Watching children discover new skills and become more confident with themselves brought her so much joy. This position at the camp was even more special since she had been one of those campers herself. Riva has worked with a wide range of families.

She especially loved her time regularly babysitting with Sitters Studio, where she got to meet local and out-of-town families booked through their service! Unfortunately, they closed its doors in December 2022, but Riva would like to continue to meet families from all over and spend time with your wonderful kiddos while you get a well-deserved break. Besides one-on-one care, Riva has been a camp counselor, church/temple childcare provider, after-school mentor/tutor, and a singing teacher. She even had a job working as a princess at birthday parties!

Over the pandemic, she taught Zoom singing lessons to young kids who were itching to make music and express themselves creatively at a time when all their learning was done from home. This made the days stuck at home much more musical for both Riva and the children. As an after-school performing arts assistant, she loved to teach group improv classes and help with scene study. Riva loves playing pretend/acting and having adventures. She prides herself in being able to make even a boring task fun. As a singer, she loves Disney and is always down to belt out Let it Go with any kiddo who comes her way. She loves being outside, going to art museums, and eating yummy foods. She is fluent in American Sign Language. Riva is a silly, creative, caring, passionate individual who will do everything she can to make sure your kid(s) have the best time while you are away. She can’t wait to meet you!

  • EXPERIENCE

    Babysitter 2009-Present

I have been watching children for 10 years. As the oldest sibling, I took on the role of babysitter once my parents deemed I was old enough. I have always taken on the task of ensuring a safe environment for whoever I watch since I started my babysitting journey with the children I loved the most.

With the experience of babysitting my siblings, as I got older I began to babysit for neighborhood children and family friends. Even in college, I let local families know that I could still make myself available, even with my busy college schedule. Since I moved to New York, I have been taking freelance babysitting gigs to supplement my income and to help fund my career goal of being a full-time actress.

I pride myself on being a child at heart and knowing how to keep children engaged while demonstrating responsibility and exercising discipline. I want children to have a good time hanging out with me so that they see me as a reward and something to look forward to. I love to use my theatrical background when I babysit, playing pretend, drawing pictures, and expressing ourselves creatively.

I have experience babysitting at homes, hotels, and large events (weddings, bar mitzvahs, funerals, etc.). I have watched children in the morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight. The largest group I have ever babysat for was a family of 6 children, ages ranging from 3-12.
